David and local business owner - West Hampstead

David talking to a small buisness owner in West Hampstead.

To win the constituency seat and take the fight back to Labour and the Tories, Hampstead and Kilburn needs a Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate who can confidently lead and is committed to liberalism and fairness and how they can improve the lives of our community.

As a party member, you need to have trust in knowing your leading public spokesperson has both the direction and focus to win as well as the experience and capabilities needed to do so. David has developed six pledges to you, so you know where he wants to lead Hampstead and Kilburn and to make sure we get there together.

Having campaigned for many years, David has both local and national experience. In his first few months as PPC, he will:

1. Get to know the local community: meeting local police, local NHS staff, local teachers, local community workers and local journalists

2. Meet and listen to as many members as possible by attending constituency and branch meetings

3. Set up a "Winning Hampstead and Kilburn" workshop with the best campaigners from around the country to help find ways to strengthen our campaigning skills and capability.

4. Launch "Listening2Hampstead-Kilburn.com" - an innovative new website, to build on existing work and further bring to life our commitment to listen to local people as well as door-to-door surveys, street surgeries and policy discussions "Pizza and Politics"

5. Campaign and recruit on the ground with local councillors and campaigners as much as possible to help ensure we win in the local elections in 2014

6. Set up a fundraising team - set and develop targets and future events that are achievable and successful.

Our Communities First, Not Politics

What's driven me to leading and winning campaigns in my local community and across the country nationally has been the issues and how they've affected people.

Politics has the potential to empower the lives of people in Hampstead and Kilburn and my focus as your champion, will be to put 100% of my time and effort into the issues that really affect our community. Politics is our tool for change, not a game for politicians!
