David is prepared to listen to the Sutton and Cheam constituency party on what really matters to local residents.
Five Pledges to Sutton and Cheam - David will:
Raise a minimum of £60,000 to win back Sutton and Cheam. See below – how much he has in pledges so far. He expects more to come in the next few weeks, he will continue to get more if selected.
Commit the time to win - living near to Cheam, David can devote large amounts of time every week from the moment he is selected, and full time during the election.

Maximise support to win from residents, business, faith and voluntary sector groups, and
Excite the public and the press about the benefit of having David as our next MP.
A campaigner, a worker and a winner. All the year round - in the community and in Parliament.
To date - 14 November 2024
More to come as he received further replies.

- Launch “Listening2Sutton-Cheam.com” – an innovative new website to listen to local people as well as door-to- door surveys, street surgeries and policy discussions.

David Buxton OBE - the best choice to win Sutton and Cheam
Health and Social Care
As an MP, he would become one of the few MPs with health and social care senior commissioning management experience and will apply his skills to shape policy. Furthermore, he will stand up for older and disabled people that need constant community support, which will also fuel community jobs in Sutton and Cheam.
Education
Education and special educational needs are what brought David into national politics. He believes that the poorest in society should be given extra resources to tackle educational inequalities. He will fight for young people to get vocational skills and qualifications from the age of 14.
Community
As a charity leader, he believes in a community centred Britain where individuals are both celebrated and respected by their local authorities. He will be an efficient and hard-working constituency MP, fighting on local issues – more affordable housing, more joined up social and health care provision, a fair deal for all.
Civil Liberties
As a national campaigner, David will keep civil liberties and human rights at the heart of our community agenda. He will defend the Human Rights Act from any opponents, also strengthen the Equality Act to make it more accessible and inclusive in our society without oppression or discrimination.
Green Environment
As a Green Liberal Democrat, David will work with leading experts to tackle key issues affecting our rivers, lands and communities. As an MP, David will engage with local council and communities to make Sutton and Cheam a greener, cleaner and safer society with more affordable homes, leisure and community activities.
This means, as our candidate to be our next MP for Sutton and Cheam, David’s five priorities for Sutton and Cheam are:
Fighting for the best health and social care for all residents
Great education, training and employment opportunities for all
Working tirelessly for decent affordable housing for all
A clean, green and safe borough for all communities, and
Standing up fearlessly for the civil liberties of all people.
